2026 Ski Trips

This coming winter's ski trips are now available for signup.  Here's a brief look at what we're offering; scroll down to check the features of each trip, and to sign up.  Registration is limited to dues-paying PSC members until August 1st.  After that, members of other Blue Ridge Ski Council clubs will be able to sign up:

Epic & Ikon Passes:

All of our 2026 trips will be going to resorts that honor one of the multi-resort season passes, as indicated above.  You may purchase passes directly from the suppliers (i.e., Epic and IKON), but several of our our tour operators are offering discounts or rebates in conjunction with the trips you might take with the club.  Those offers are described on our Epic & Ikon Pass page.  If you plan to buy a pass, it may behoove you to act quickly as we expect the prices of both passes to go up in the coming weeks and months. You should consider purchasing passes early-on as the costs typically increase before the Memorial Day holiday and periodically as winter gets closer.   Season pass sales typically end in early-to-mid December.

Epic Pass Lift Reservations:
Lift Reservations will be required to ski and ride at Telluride if you'll be using an Epic Pass.  Telluride is the only Epic Pass destination on our schedule with this requirement.

Ikon Pass Lift Reservations:
Lift Reservations will be required to ski and ride at three of the club's 2026 Ikon Pass destinations:

  • Jackson Hole
  • Snowmass
  • Deer Valley

The decision whether reservations are required is made at the discretion of each resort.  An Ikon Pass holder can make reservations for themselves and any other Ikon Pass holder in their Ikon Pass account.   The physical Ikon Pass is not needed to make a reservation.  Once you've received a purchase confirmation, you may make reservations within your Ikon Pass account.

Military Passes:

Military Epic passes and military discounts on IKON passes are only available from the suppliers (but note that special pricing is available on IKON Passes through the Military Sales Program).  Details appear on our Epic & Ikon Pass page.

Blue Ridge Ski Council:  Registration for our 2026 ski trips will be opened beginning August 1, 2025 to members of other ski clubs that are members of the Blue Ridge Ski Council through the "sanctioning" process.  Hint:  To register for a trip you must first "join" the PSC as a no-cost BRSC member and populate your membership profile.

Non-Skiing Trips

Our several non-skiing vacation trips are also listed below and available for registration/signups as indicated.

Tips for All Trips

REAL ID Requirement:  As you probably know, after years of delays the REAL ID requirement for domestic air travel finally took effect in May 2025.  Everyone boarding domestic flights will need to present REAL ID-compliant forms of identification.  Standard driver’s licenses and other identification cards will no longer meet federal standards for flying within the U.S.  We suggest you review the Frequently Asked Questions on the TSA's website.  If you don't have a REAL ID compliant driver's license, your passport will substitute.  Absent that, you should still be able to travel, but will likely be subjected to additional screening.

Trip Insurance:  Be sure to review our Trip Insurance page before signing up for a trip, and consider whether to purchase cancellation insurance.  Note that the cancel for any reason option requires that you pay the premium within 14 days of paying your initial deposit on a trip.  The 14-day purchase deadline also applies in order to waive the pre-existing medical condition exclusion.

Signup/Registration Tips:  Please take a moment to read the Trip Signup/Registration Tips.  Each individual must be logged-in with their PSC credentials (email address & password) in order to register (sign up) for a trip.  Before signing up, please take a moment to review your profile including your emergency contact information and (if you're thinking of a trip to Canada or Europe) your passport information.  Make sure your first and middle names exactly match your passport (or whatever ID you'll fly with) so your ticket gets issued correctly.  Then click on the trip's Register button if you're ready to sign up!  Your personal information will be pulled from your profile, and then you will need to select options specific to each trip, for example, what type of lodging you prefer (double occupancy or a single room at extra cost) and what type of lift ticket you want.

Important If you are registering someone other than yourself, you must log out of your own account and then log in with their credentials.  If you skip this step and register them while signed into your own account, their profile information won't convey into their signup record.  This is necessary even with family (bundle) memberships where you are the bundle administrator.

Wait-Listed Trips:  Click on the button to Join wait list and we may be able to confirm you on the trip if we have a cancellation, after confirming that you still want to go.  We're also sometimes able to expand a trip to accommodate additional skiers.

Trip Invoice & Initial Deposit:  An invoice will be generated for each trip you've registered for.  Each trip includes a payment table listing an initial deposit, one or more interim payments, and a final payment date.  You must pay the initial deposit, and any subsequent interim payments that have or are about to come due, to secure your place on the trip.  Your registration is not confirmed until we receive and acknowledge your deposit.  Payments can be made online with a credit card, or by check.  We can also accept credit card payments at club meetings.

    Summer Picnic

Saturday, July 12, 2025, Noon to 4 pm
Hyatt Hotel in Reston Town Center
    (lunch buffet served until 2pm)

1800 Presidents Street, Reston, VA  20190

    Please Register to Attend

    by Monday, June 23rd
so we can adjust the catering

Join your ski club friends for an afternoon picnic at the Hyatt Hotel in Reston Town Center, which is located just off the Dulles Toll Road and also nearby Route 7 headed west from Tysons Corner toward Leesburg.  (This is where we had our picnic in 2021 and 2024.)

Due to renovations underway at our usual location of Fort Myer, we had to look for alternatives.

The picnic will be on the second floor of the hotel in part of the hotel's ballroom, and we will also have access to an outdoor terrace.

We've opted for something different than the usual hamburgers & hot dogs:  The menu will include pulled pork BBQ, grilled chicken, sides and soft drinks, with cake for dessert.  A cash bar will be available for the beverages of your choice.

Please Sign Up by Monday,  June 23rd

    Bringing a Guest?

If you plan to come to the picnic with someone else, there are two ways to let us know:

    • If your companion is a club member in their own right, they can log in with their credentials and register for the picnic much as they would do if signing up for a club meeting or a trip.
    • Whether your companion is a club member or not, you can simply include them in your own picnic registration by clicking on the Add guest button before submitting your registration.

    If Your Plans Change

If your plans change and you can no longer attend, or if you need to change the number of people you've registered, please let us know by Monday June 23rd so we can adjust our catering order ... or perhaps allow us to confirm someone else to attend, if we've had to form a wait list due to capacity restrictions.  You may do this by:

      • Calling (703-862-6535) or emailing Steve Thompson
      • Calling (301-579-2749) or emailing Dave Olsen
      • Cancelling your registration yourself:
        • click on your name at the top
        • click on My Event Registrations
        • click on your picnic registration
        • click on the Already registered link (below the Register button)
        • click on the Cancel registration link
    • If you need to change the number of people you've registered (up or down), you can first cancel your registration, and then re-register with the new information.  Or just contact us.

We hope you will come out and catch up with your ski club friends and meet the trip leaders for the coming winter's ski trips.  If you need to make a trip deposit, bring your credit card or checkbook.

Parking at Reston Town Center is FREE on the weekend.  Note - there is pay parking in the Hyatt Hotel garage, but there are several nearby garages that are free.  The Hyatt is located between the Silver and Blue garages on the map below.  The Green and Orange garages are also good options.

Les Trois Vallées, the world’s largest ski area, is made up of eight resorts linked via a comprehensive network of modern ski lifts.  This includes internationally famous resorts such as Courchevel, Méribel and Val Thorens, and other more family-orientated resorts with a charm all of their own such as Les Ménuires, La Tania, Brides-les-Bains, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville and Orelle.  50% of the ski area’s runs are considered easy (greens and blues) with the remaining 50% suitable for more proficient skiers (reds and blacks).

85% of the pistes are above 1,800m, enabling Les Trois Vallées to guarantee optimum snow conditions from early December to the end of April.  180 ski lifts are available to skiers, which ensure that you’ll spend more time on the slopes than in a queue.

These eight resorts also offer a unique range of off-piste and après-ski activities, as well as myriad events and entertainment and a wide choice of restaurants.

We will stay seven nights at the 4 star Hotel Alpen Ruitor in Meribel Mottaret  the same hotel where we stayed in January 2023.  The hotel offers exclusive and ready-to-go skiing to the largest ski domain in the world.  Features:

See why Forbes magazine named Telluride Mountain Resort as one of the best ski resorts in Colorado:

It may not be the easiest ski resort to get to, but that’s one of the many reasons that Telluride has largely stayed somewhat of a hidden gem. Tucked within the gorgeous San Juan Mountains, under a two-hour drive from the Montrose Regional Airport, this historic mountain town is rich with rustic charm and offers some of the most stunning mountain views you’ll find in the United States. Surrounded by 13,000 and 14,000-foot peaks, the town itself is nestled cozily into the canyon and bustling with boutiques, restaurants and unique bars that round out this incredible vacation spot. Up in the mountains, skiers of all levels will find their grove with a wide variety of terrain for intermediate and advanced skiers (plus plenty for those just learning the sport).

Explore the myriad of activities available in Telluride for the non-skier, or for a day off from the slopes, including ice skating, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, sleigh rides, hot springs, fat-tire biking, horseback riding, snowshoeing, and dog-sled tours.

Our trip includes 7 nights (Sat-Sat) in deluxe ski-in/ski-out condos at the Telluride Mountain Lodge (sleep at 9,545 ft), with round-trip air into Montrose (details below) and ground transfers.

Immerse yourself in the true spirit of the Western alpine lifestyle!  Our slope-side sanctuary is set in six scenic acres of Telluride's quiet, peaceful Mountain Village, against the majestic 14,000-foot peaks of the San Juan Mountain range.  Just a scenic gondola ride from downtown Telluride’s shops, restaurants, and lively streets, the Mountain Lodge provides the perfect home base for our Telluride adventures.

Our thoughtfully designed two-bedroom deluxe condos offer a spacious and comfortable retreat after a day of mountain adventures, seamlessly blending an attractive Mountain Modern aesthetic with functional convenience, and providing a welcoming and stylish retreat for our stay.  Breathe in the fresh mountain air and take in spectacular views. These beautifully appointed rentals provide all the comforts of home, enhanced with the luxury services of a hotel.  Enjoy ski-in/ski-out accessibility and easy access to Telluride's vibrant dining, shopping, and entertainment options.

The main bedroom in our spacious condos features a king-size bed, fireplace, and full bathroom, while the second bedroom offers two double beds and another full bath.  Prepare home-cooked meals in the fully equipped kitchen and enjoy them by the gas fireplace in the open-concept living and dining area. An extra powder room (half bathroom) in the living area and an extra-large balcony add to the comfort of our stay. Additionally, our condos include an in-unit washer and dryer for our convenience.  Explore the amenities and impressive photo gallery on the property's website.

Single Rooms:   Listed price is for double occupancy; add $1,825 for the single supplement if you want a room (but not an entire condo unit) to yourself.

Lift Tickets – Epic Passes:  Epic Passes, which must be individually purchased (not through the club), may provide the best value for your lift tickets – especially if you're planning to ski at more than one "Epic" resort this winter.  It may depend when you buy your pass as prices will increase as winter gets closer.

The following options would cover your skiing for the trip Prices shown are as of March 2025, but will increase periodically, and will be unavailable after early December:

    • A "full" Epic Pass ($1,051)
    • Regrettably, the Epic Military Passes have no benefits at Telluride.
    • Epic Day Pass (the non-holiday-rate for an "all resorts" pass) – ($527 for 5 days; $614 for 6 days)

You may purchase Epic Passes directly from Vail Resorts, but we suggest that you visit our Epic & Ikon Pass page to explore the promotional offers that may be available from our tour operators.

If you'll be using an Epic Pass, we must provide your pass number to the resort so that it counts towards our group lift ticket minimum purchase requirements.  Please enter your Epic Pass number into your membership profile before registering for the trip, or provide it to the trip leader if you purchase (or renew) your pass subsequent to signing up.

Epic Pass Skiing Reservations REQUIRED Epic Pass Holders wishing to ski or ride at Telluride are required to make a reservation in advance.  You may make your reservations by logging into your Epic Pass account.

Group Lift Tickets:  Although an Epic Pass may provide the best value, group lift tickets are available as an option for those without an Epic Pass:

     Telluride Group Lift Ticket Options
    5-Day
     6-Day
     Adults & 65-79 Seniors
     $1,000  $1,200

An IKON Pass resort with a lift ticket available as an extra-cost option

With its impressive terrain ranging from wide-open groomers to playful glades and gullies to steep, backcountry-like runs, Snowmass is a favorite for skiers and snowboarders of all levels and terrain preferences.  Offering a ton of terrain for the intermediate skier, the blue cruisers at Snowmass are meticulously manicured every night (and some are groomed at noon every day).  Challenge-seekers can test themselves in high-alpine bowls with steep pitches and cliffs, tight trees to navigate, and fresh powder throughout the more than 3,300 acres of skiable terrain at Snowmass.

      Stonebridge Inn

Our trip includes 7 nights (Sat-Sat) in deluxe hotel rooms at the slopeside Stonebridge Inn with daily breakfast buffet, round-trip air from Washington to Denver (details below), and ground transfers.  Baggage handling is included.

Selected three years in a row as one of the 50 Top Ski Resort Hotels in the United States by Condé Nast Traveler magazine, the Stonebridge offers comfortable, modern hotel rooms in the style of a rustic lodge.  Located in the heart of Snowmass Village, just steps from the slopes and within walking distance to the Snowmass Base Village, it offers an intimate alpine escape, framed by aspen groves and the 14,000-foot peaks of the Rockies.

The ongoing renovation at the Stonebridge includes the new Heather's Snowmass Restaurant, which features daily Après Ski from 3-5pm and a lineup of world-class musicians

Located on the lobby level, Heather's is known for its hearty savory pies, delectable tapas, and welcoming atmosphere.  Whether you're looking to enjoy a delicious meal or experience live music in a cozy setting, Heather's in Snowmass Village offers a memorable dining experience.

      We'll each receive a $10 credit for food & drink in Heather's.

Hotel amenities include a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, fitness room, sauna, Internet access, on-site laundry facilities, and a ski locker room.  Complimentary shuttles are available to take us around the village.

      Queen/Queen Room

Our deluxe Q/Q rooms feature extensive amenities including mini refrigerators, coffee makers, and hair dryers.  Rooms with one King bed may be available, upon request and subject to availability.

Single Rooms:  Listed price is for double occupancy; add $1,750 for the single supplement if you want a room to yourself.

New Terrain at Aspen Mountain:  Although we're staying at Snowmass, you might want to ski a day at one or more of the other three resorts that are all reachable with the free bus system: Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk.  In particular, you might want to check out the new Hero's Area at Aspen Mountain

Hero’s – Aspen Mountain’s first major addition since the Silver Queen Gondola in December of 1985 offers an additional 153 acres of skiing and riding across the town's mountain.  Since opening in 2023-24, the area has seen continued improvement with added glading, offering an even better skier experience.  Accessible via a high-speed quad, idyllic views and steep chutes and trails await your exploration.  Hero’s increases Aspen Mountain’s lift-served terrain by more than 20 percent. The mix includes nineteen chutes, three explorable gladed areas, and four cut trails.  The project also extended some of our favorite existing runs, including Walsh’s and Kristi, lengthening vertical drop to 1,220 feet and eliminating the hike out at the bottom.  And while expert skiers celebrated the most, the project also added a nice helping of intermediate glades and groomed runs.  The setting is as idyllic as it gets.  Views travel up Independence Pass and down to the valley floor, where the Roaring Fork River carves a meandering line through the snow-blanketed North Star Nature Preserve. It’s a gorgeous section of the mountain, peaceful, and serene

Ikon Pass Benefits:  If you're planning to ski at more than one "Ikon" resort this winter, an Ikon Pass may be a better value than the available group lift tickets (see below); it may depend when you buy your pass as prices will increase as winter gets closer.

      • A Full Ikon Pass gives you 7 days at Aspen/Snowmass.
      • An Ikon Base Pass has no benefits at Aspen/Snowmass.
      • NOTE:  The Ikon Base Plus Pass is no longer offered.  Resorts such as Snowmass that used to honor it will now require a Full Ikon Pass.

Ikon Passes must be individually purchased (not through the club).  You may purchase Ikon Passes directly from Ikon, but we suggest that you visit our Epic & Ikon Pass page to explore the promotional offers that may be available from our tour operators.

If you'll be using an Ikon Pass, we must provide your pass number to the resort so that it counts towards our group lift ticket minimum purchase requirements.  Please enter your Ikon Pass number into your membership profile before registering for the trip, or provide it to the trip leader if you purchase (or renew) your pass subsequent to signing up.

Ikon Lift Reservations:  Skiers using an Ikon Pass will be required to make reservations for their ski days by logging into their Ikon Pass account at ikonpass.com.  You should make your reservations as soon as you sign up for the trip as daily space may be limited and could sell out.

Group Lift Tickets:   Group lift tickets are available as an extra-cost option for skiers without an Ikon Pass:

       Lift Ticket Options  5-Day
       6-Day
       Adult  $575  $715
       Senior (65+)
       $470  $560

The lift tickets are good at all four area resorts:  Snowmass, Aspen, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk.

Timpanogos:  In 1969, Robert Redford bought the land now known as Sundance Resort and envisioned the careful growth of a community committed to the balance of art, nature and community. Today, Sundance Resort offers an atmosphere steeped in cultural heritage.  Click for a peek at the trail map and mountain statistics.

The round-trip bus ride (about a half hour away) is included in the trip package, but the Sundance lift ticket is an optional add-on (estimated $125 extra cost, to be confirmed), recognizing that some participants – particularly those with an Ikon Pass might prefer to just ski every day at Deer Valley.

Ikon Pass Benefits:  If you're planning to ski at more than one "Ikon" resort this winter, an Ikon Pass may be a better value than the available group lift tickets (see below); it may depend when you buy your pass as prices will increase as winter gets closer.

      • A Full Ikon Pass gives you 7 days at Deer Valley.
      • An Ikon Base Pass has no benefits at Deer Valley.

       Deer Valley Lift Ticket Options
       4-Day  5-Day
       6-Day
       Adult  $415  $500  $620
       Senior (65+)
       $375  $455  $525

Estimated prices.  Invoices will be adjusted as needed for those
already signed up, once prices are confirmed.

Optional 3-Night Pre-Ski Extension in Venice
Departs from the U.S. Tuesday, March 10

Ski the Dolomites at Trentino’s largest unified ski area:  Skirama Dolomiti is a collection of eight resorts which includes Madonna di Campiglio.  The vast network of slopes, totaling 380km, is known for its diverse terrain, scenic beauty, and high-altitude ski opportunities.

Located at 1550m altitude in a natural conch, nestled between the Brenta Dolomites mountain range and the Adamello and Presanella glaciers, Madonna di Campiglio is one of the most important and well-known ski resorts in the Italian Alps.  Ski on 97 miles of interconnected runs across the three ski areas of Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo and Folgarida-Marilleva.

      Savoia Palace Hotel

Our trip package includes seven nights (Sat-Sat) in the four-star Savoia Palace Hotel.  Opened in 1886, the Savoia Palace, one of the first hotels in the center of Madonna di Campiglio, has been a focal point in the resort for more than a century.  Today it is run by the Antonioli family, hoteliers for generations, who have created an elegant, welcoming atmosphere, emphasizing traditional Trentino hospitality.   Just a 10-minute walk to the the lifts, our hotel offers an ideal location for our ski holiday in the Brenta Dolomites.

      Savoia Palace Classic Rooms

Our "run-of-the-house" block of rooms includes a  mix of the Savoia's Classic, Comfort, and Superior rooms.  Room and hotel amenities include:

      • Safes, desks, and complimentary WiFi
      • Shower/tub combinations and complimentary toiletries
      • Buffet breakfast served daily from 7:30 to 9:30
      • Restaurant, bar and lounge
      • Pamper yourself with a visit to the spa, which offers massages, body treatments, and facials.  A spa tub and a sauna offer a relaxing way to wind down after a day on the slopes.

Single Rooms:  Listed cost is for double occupancy.  A limited number of rooms may be available for single occupancy (est @ $760 - includes both Madonna and our last night in Venice); request when registering and the trip leader will make an adjustment to your invoice if you can be confirmed.

BRSC Eurofest Features:  The trip includes several events as a feature of being the Blue Ridge Ski Council's annual Eurofest trip including:

      • Welcome party
      • Après ski party
      • Gala farewell dinner

Epic Pass Holders receive seven consecutive days of skiing and riding at Skirama Dolomiti ski resorts (includes Madonna), as is explained on the Epic Pass website.  Instructions for Epic Pass holders are presented on the Skirama Dolomiti website.  Only the "full" Epic Pass is honored.  Epic Day Passes and Military Epic Passes do not provide access to Madonnna.

Resort Lift Tickets:  Skiers without an Epic Pass will need to buy their lift tickets at the resort.  The prices are quite reasonable:  The 2024-25 ticket office price for a 6-day "Low Season" Adult lift ticket was €375 ... and we expect the low season to start on Monday of our ski week.  (The Peak Season price was €418.)

Last Night in Venice:  At the end of our ski week, both the Main/Ski-Only Group and the Extension Group will spend our last night (Saturday, March 21) at a hotel in Mestre, near the Venice airport, and fly home on Sunday.  This is to avoid having to get up and leave Madonna so early on Saturday.  Our specific hotel (to be confirmed ~ January 2026) is expected to be either Hotel Antony or the Hilton Garden Inn.

      Venice Option - $1,350

      3-Night Pre-Skiing Extension

      VBT's Valleys of the Dolomites

Join the Pentagon Ski Club on a Vermont Bicycle Touring (VBT) trip to South Tyrol - a marriage of Italian and German culture - that makes the Dolomites very unique.  Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Dolomites are primarily composed of dolomitic rock, a type of limestone, which gives them their characteristic pale color.  Bike with us under these renowned vertical peaks, spires, and towers, and along mountain lakes and river valleys, all sculptured over millions of years, creating a backdrop of breathtaking and awe-inspiring landscapes. This region is also home to unique cultural traditions, including the Ladin language and culture (found in the central part of the Dolomites).  Our guides will introduce us to the fusion of cultures in South Tyrol, including its famous blend of Italian and Austrian cuisine.  You've skied the area in winter, now come bike it in summer!

Sicily, the Noto Valley & Syracuse

Join the Pentagon Ski Club on a Vermont Bicycle Tour (VBT) to Sicily.  VBT’s local Sicilian trip leaders are delighted to welcome you to their island home! Here, you’ll stay at authentic accommodations  showcasing Sicily’s rich cultural history – including a 18th century palace with stucco decorated ceilings. Pedal gentle bike paths along coastal valleys, stopping for lunch with a local family on their organic farm. Accompany a Sicilian truffle hunter and his dog on a search for this culinary prize. Through it all, your gregarious Sicilian trip leaders help you make local friends—using nothing but gestures, good humor, and your winning smile.

In addition to the bike tour, I plan to organize some additional days in Sicily.  The details are yet to be determined, but if you want to add some additional days, I encourage you to book the Own Air Package or the Bike Tour Only with VBT to allow the flexibility to determine your arrival and departure dates.
