Ski Clubs & Councils, NASTAR, Tour Operators
- Blue Ridge Ski Council (BRSC) - The
Pentagon Ski Club is a member of the BRSC. Our members may participate on ski trips that have been
"sanctioned" by other BRSC member clubs without having to become a member of the other club. Click
on the link for the list of sanctioned trips.
National Ski Council Federation (NSCF) - The
National Ski Council Federation (NSCF) is made up of ski councils throughout United States. The Federation's
purpose is to strengthen councils, with industry participation, so they may better serve clubs through
improved communication, education and benefits, and to influence issues relevant to snowsports and ski clubs.
The Blue Ridge Ski Council, to which the Pentagon Ski Club belongs, is a founding member of the NSCF. PSC
members are entitled to all the rights and privileges of the NSCF. NSCF Benefits include substantial discounts that
have been negotiated for a wide range of ski-related merchandise and services. To access these benefits you
may need to login with the userid and password that appear on page 2 of your PSC newsletter.
- NASTAR - The club's recreational racing program
is based on the NASTAR handicapping system. You can view each-winter's individual and
club race results at this site.
Winter Ski and Sport - WSAS is one of
our club's travel agents.
Local Ski Shops - We're providing a link to a number of local-area merchants
that have agreed to put out the PSC's trifold brochure that lists our trips. Some of these
shops have supported club meetings or have received specific endorsements from club members who have
enjoyed professional sales and service from them, as noted below.
- Alpine Ski Shop -
In Sterling, VA. The shop has agreed to put out the PSC brochure.
- Pro-Fit Ski & Skate - In Leesburg, VA.
Especially recommended for boot fitting. PSC members have dealt with the owners, Nancy and Brian Deely,
for years. The shop has made presentations at several club meetings and has given us a
reciprocal listing on their website.
- Ski Center - In NW Washington, DC,
just off Massachusetts Avenue at 49th Street. Especially recommended for boot fitting. The shop has agreed
to put out the PSC brochure.
- Ski Chalet - Locations in Arlington, VA;
Chantilly, VA; and Gaithersburg, MD. The shop has supported our club meetings, and has agreed to put out
our brochure.
- Ski Haus Sports Center - In Annapolis, MD,
on the access road, north side of Route 50. The shop has agreed to put out our brochure.
- Willi's Ski, Snowboard and Tennis Shop -
In Fairfax, VA (and other locations). The shop has agreed to put out the PSC brochure and to give us a
reciprocal listing on their website. Willi's provided all the latest in skiwear for the fashion
shows at our November 2006 & 2007 membership meetings.

- Tognar Toolworks - Ski & snowboard
wax, tuning tools, and ski repair supplies.
Reciprocal Links - The club is listed on the websites of these firms. We are providing
reciprocal links as a courtesy.
- Fort Myer Military Community MWR - The
Morale, Welfare, and Recreation program provides services and facilities for both Fort Myer in
Virginia and Fort McNair in the District of Columbia. MWR programs provide for the physical,
cultural, and social needs and general well-being of Service members and their families.
The PSC has arranged for a three-month (Nov-Jan) listing on their site.
- DCSki - An independent on-line publication
covering outdoor recreation in the Washington, D.C. region. Focuses on skiing and snowboarding. In the
summer, DCSki covers activities such as mountain biking and hiking. Click to look at
